Anies Escalates Literacy and Reading Through #RuangBacaJakarta

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan launched book corner and directly held campaign of #RuangBacaJakarta at Lebak Bulus MRT station, South Jakarta, Sunday morning (9/8).
It is hoped more books to come for our public facilities such as bus shelters
The activity and campaign are movement to increase society's reading interest at public spaces.
"I read about an inspirational stories book from Antara news agency. We started our activity today at Bundaran HI MRT station," said Anies as quoted from PPID's press release.
MRT Jakarta to Equip Several Stations with Book CornerAccording to him, #RuangBacaJakarta is a movement in increasing society's reading interest through book corner at public spaces.
"Jakarta people should have high literacy in the middle of our city as part of global cities," he added.
MRT sides prepare bookshelves at every station. The book can be borrowed and returned by MRT passengers at their destination station.
"It's important for us to develop our reading interest during our leisure time, especially in a trip. The book category is not quite heavy," he continued.
Related with book distribution, he lets people to donate their book to MRT.
"Feel free to donate your book. I suggest to donate book that can be read in short time since the MRT trip is short too," he stated.
He hopes this movement can be run at other public spaces or public facilities.
"It is hoped more books to come for our public facilities such as bus shelters," he closed.
